When: Tuesday 5:30 - 6:30
Hatha Yoga is a physical study of yoga. This safe, non competitive program is for those students new to the practice of yoga
who are interested in increased flexibility and general well being.
The poses (Asanas) are taught - both standing and seated on floor-as well as flowing routines, ie Sun Salutations, which incorporate
learned poses. Each student is encouraged to try each pose to the best of his or her ability or level of flexibility. Props such
as mats, blocks, and straps are available to aid the student to learn and master the poses and to be better aligned.
The class lasts one hour. We begin by practicing our breathing techniques and then warming up with gentle stretches. The Sun Salutations,
individual poses, and small routines are done, and we end with stretching exercises and relaxation. Students always leave with a smile on
their face and the most overhead phrase is "I always feel so good when I come to Yoga class."
What you need: Comfortable-fitting clothing and it is recommended that you bring water.
