Contrology" was Mr. Pilates' name for this program. All exercises are done keeping this word in mind. The core is targeted with this floor (and sometimes standing) work-out and the fact that there is little impact makes this a safe class. Props available include resistance bands, weights, bars, and exercise balls. Beginners can easily join Pilates class at any time.

Class begins with warm-up and breathing instruction, and moves into sequenced exercises utilizing all major groups. The core muscles are always involved, for example: full roll-ups, side leg series, standing lunges and weight lifting, and while sitting on the large exercise balls. Stretching at the end of class is an important component which ties together all the work the body has done plus aids in cool-down.



What you need: Comfortable-fitting clothing and it is recommended that you bring water.
